What I Wore | Capture the Flag

WhatIWore: Look who’s twinning it up today?! I saw this Indiana state flag onesie in the window of a local boutique and thought he’d look really handsome in it and then saw the women’s version and bought it for myself. Don’t we make a cute couple? 

I really like pairing graphic tees with more feminine skirts. It’s still an easy kid-friendly outfit (as long as you’re not crawling around all over the ground) but more than jean shorts and a tee (which I do wear quite regularly too). We wore these outfits yesterday morning for a walk, a mommy-son breakfast date and then to baby hour at the library. Oh! And Felix took about 6 steps to me and I could have just started bawling in front of everyone. This lil guy is growing up too fast!

What I Wore | Blue Moon

WhatIWore: This. Dress. Is. The. Best! I don’t think I’ve felt more beautiful in anything in a long time! My initial draw to it was the V cut on the back of the dress (I was looking for pieces to show off my bee). When I tried it on, I thought it might be a little more darling (and a little less daring) if I added a lace knit cami underneath which unfortunately covered up the back too. No matter, it’s still a beaut! I just love the cut and the fabric and the skirt and the color and… everything! Wouldn’t this make for a beautiful bridesmaid dress she could actually wear later?

A quick note on the color of the dress. While it reads a deep cobalt in these photos, to the naked eye it’s much more navy! 

What I Wore | Summer Strolling

WhatIWore: Phew! It’s a scorcher here today! Last night before I fell asleep I thought of this outfit. Don’t you love it when you wake up and know exactly what you’re going to wear the next day? I rarely do, so it was nice to be up and ready to go in 15 minutes today! 

Can I point your attention to my black skirt? I mentioned it yesterday as part of my core closet and today I’m maximizing a piece you might not expect - a dress worn as a top! The silhouette of the full skirt really balances me out on top (an area I’m always a little self conscious of these days) and the neutral palette lets my new yellow bag get all the attention!
