What I Wore | Dark Flares

WhatIWore: Yesterday Felix and I did a little mother son adventure by taking a road trip to the outlets to buy his fall clothes and go on a lunch date. He slept the whole way there and back (about an hour each way) and was such a fun little buddy to shop with! I think I might do a round up of what we found because it’s a) cute but b) not too cute. Know what I mean?

But speaking of cute - I felt like a hot mom babe in this outfit! I really like that it’s so simple, but with my cool hair it looks…. cooler? Yeah! It looks cool. I’m pretty happy with a basic tee and jean get up that makes me feel so good. Even your easy outfits should make you feel like you’re bringing your A game.

Inspired By | Denim Skirts

WhatIWore: With my 70s fashion kick in full swing, I’ve been really inspired by denim skirts - specifically button front A-line or pencil cut versions. Depending on where in the world you live, you’ve either seen a lot of this trend or really hope it never catches hold. Jean skirts can go really wrong (search them on Pinterest and you’ll see what I mean) but they can also look really fresh and chic. I like them best with tops tucked in (even halfway) to a higher rise and without sneakers.  I’ll take my styling cues from the images above - stripes, chambray and neutral tops.

What I Wore | Pale Pink Moto

WhatIWore: Good morning all! I might be jumping the gun a little bit here, but I am ready to start wearing some of my fall purchases, so while the mornings are cool, I’m going for it! I recently bought this pale pink moto and pink printed dress from Banana Republic and both are awesome examples of pieces you can wear so many ways.

I foresee myself wearing this printed ruffle dress year round - now with bare legs and sandals and in a month or so with booties. Later on I could add tights and a turtleneck and I think it’ll be cute with my black or white leather jacket or even a jean jacket. I love a dress that has so much potential!

And the jacket will look so cute with jeans - both blue denim and my cropped high waisted pair. I love how the color is so feminine but the cut is rockin. I think it goes with my new hair cut really well!

What I Wore | Changing Perspectives

WhatIWore: Well - ta da! I went with the bangs! Thanks for the encouragement… I knew I wanted something different but it definitely helps to have a little push when it comes to trying something new. I’ll be honest though - I feel stumped with what to wear! I like how this look came together but it might take me a while to feel like I know what I’m doing. I’m yet to wash and style it myself and I think that’ll help it sink in and get me going! Now… it’s Friday! Happy Weekending everyone!
