What I Wore | Plain Jane

WhatIWore: Just a super simple outfit post for today… a classic striped tee shirt and a pair of skinny jeans. I’ve taken the jump and pulled out my maternity clothes, but weirdly, my bump feels a lot smaller than last week.

I hope jeans work better for this pregnancy. I’ve mentioned before that last time, Felix’s position didn’t make them that comfortable. This pair is from GAP and they’re so so. They have the low band which felt a little too tight when seated, and the denim did feel a little baggy (despite being in my smaller size). Yet they fit well enough to wear all day.

I put out a call for help from you guys on Facebook the other day, and there have been a lot of good recommendations. You suggested everything from Old Navy on the budget end to AG on the premium side. Thank you! I’m even considering buying a lot of pairs at all price points so I can do a huge review as reference for everyone else… but not sure of that yet! Please pipe up if you have a brand you loved from your own pregnancy (I’m really looking for recommendations on the full panel styles!).

What I Wore | Gold Dust Woman

WhatIWore: Clothing is so transformative for me and this dress is the perfect example. The second I slip it on I instantly feel a little more laid back, a little more free spirited. And I hear Fleetwood Mac playing in my head (which, I’ve gotta confess, is so much better than the rotation of kids’ songs that have been stuck in there lately!)

I really love this dress. Check out the ways I’ve worn it -  pregnant, postpartum, nursing and at my regular size.

What I Wore | Little Black Dress

WhatIWore: I may be smiling in these photos, but behind those sunglasses are some incredibly tired eyes. Felix got up at 3:30 and was not interested in going back to bed, so I didn’t spend much time thinking about what to wear today. I’ve been chilly in AC lately and layering light weight scarves over summer dresses. I wish I had looked in the mirror before we took photos of this. It’s not laying like I’d like, but you get the picture, right? 

This is a good kind of outfit for any woman, pregnant or not, to throw on as an alternative to work out clothes on a day when she doesn’t have the energy to think of anything else. Just as comfy, just as lazy, but far more stylish! This is still a non maternity style!

What I Wore | In the Navy

WhatIWore: Here’s what I wore over the weekend for a wedding! To give you some contrast, this is what the dress looked like before my waist started to expand last fall. The stretch of the fabric (and a hiked up waist) worked so well with my baby bump! And it was comfortable and I felt good about myself! Like last time, I also layered the dress over a lace trim camisole to give it a bit more coverage and a tad more modest than without it. 

I always seem to use the same clutch for weddings. It’s like a little transistor radio from kate spade new york that I bought during one of their sales a few years ago. A quirky little bag can make for a nice conversation piece and looks good with a black or navy dress! This ship is cute and so is this little parrot or seahorse!! KSNY does flash sales over email so if you’re on the lookout for something like this, that’s a good place to get the best price.
