WhatIWore: Not much to say about this casual, everyday kind of outfit! I’ve been shopping at Old Navy a lot lately while I’m in there pulling pieces for my partnership posts and usually see a few things extra for myself (that I buy with my own $$$, of course!). This tee was one of them! It was only $5 and I know, I know, I have way too many striped tees, but it’s what I like! It’s just a simple classic and it always looks good!

20 Spring Outfit Ideas

20 Cute Spring Outfit Ideas, @whatiwore

WhatIWore: This originally appeared on What I Wore in April of 2014. I thought there were still a lot of good ideas here so I’m reposting today! Enjoy!

Any regular readers here at What I Wore know that when I love a piece of clothing, I’m not afraid to repeat it.  If I were my regular size these days (EDIT: I was pregnant when I first wrote this!), I’d be all about repeating the outfits shown here - 20 of my favorites from past spring seasons. I think a few of them might still work (the black knit maxi below is totally a maternity style that I wore for years before becoming pregs) and of course I can still rock a denim or army jacket. I just have to be a little more creative!

It’s fun to look back and see the themes that define my personal style over the years - colored denim, stripes, polka dots, scarves and chambray. I’m nearly into my eighth (can you believe it?) year of daily outfit photos and I think it will be wonderful to some day in the future to look back and have not only a huge body of work, but a gateway into so many memories. I can still tell you what I was doing on most of these days… whether it was warm or freezing when we took the photo, or if I woke up on the right side of the bed.  It’s my personal costume history!

I was thinking the other day how great it would be to do a ten year retrospective at a modern art museum after I hit that milestone. Wouldn’t you just flip out if your own mom had done something like this back in the late 60s or 70s?  Or your grandmother in the 40s and 50s? No matter how long I continue to write What I Wore, I’ll always be proud of myself for sticking with it this long.

I thought you might enjoy seeing some of these spring styles for your own inspiration so I’ve linked up to the original posts by title. If you want more more more, head over to my GALLERY, for all of my outfit photos since late 2009. I’d love to hear if you have a favorite or have worn a similar outfit on facebook

Daily Life | Spring Saturday

daily life in snaps

WhatIWore: You know that first Saturday of the year when it’s sunny and warm outside and before you know it, it’s already dinner time and you’ve just been going going going? That was this past weekend for us. We walked all over town, went out to breakfast, snapped photos, went to the park, took a baking/nap break and then a backyard party with friends. It was a perfect first spring weekend. Here’s a little photo spread of what we did.

10am: Orange Blossom Breve and Breakfast

11:15am: Farmer’s Market. Our favorite band (Busman’s Holiday) was playing and we checked out the flowers and fresh greens

12pm: Next to the distillery to drop off papa for work and coincidently, my aunt, uncle and cousins from Fort Wayne were strolling down the B-Line trail!! We all went next door to Hopscotch for coffee and treats in the sun.

1pm: Back to Cardinal and La Poblana for lunch. Felix was fussy and ready to relax so back to our house.

3pm: Time to bake! When I like a recipe, I make it a few times in a row. For our backyard BBQ that night I decided to make these paleo whoopie pies (carrot and raisin with orange and honey filling). They’re really amazing. Recipe from Primal Cravings. Felix hung out nearby and tugged at my skirt. “Mama! Pay attention to meeeeeeee!"

5pm: After napping we had a little time to kill before leaving for the party, so off to the park down the street. I wanted to see if Felix was big enough to enjoy the baby swing and he seemed to really like it! We swung for a while before doing a walk and getting in another little nap. I headed home, had a glass of wine and then got things together for the party.

6:30pm: No photos because we were having too much fun seeing our friends and playing in the yard.

9pm: Back home and time for bed. I made a note to check the clock because I wore the same shoes all day long and it was their debut wear! Don’t you hate it when spring shoes rub your heels raw? Not the case in these sandals, courtesy of Rockport, which I picked because they have such a cute retro, Roman Holiday vibe.

Thank you to Rockport, who’ve asked me to share #MyDailyAdventure with today’s post.  Rockport makes cute, wearable and incredibly comfortable footwear, that can be worn all day - from brunch to BBQs.  Please use code ROCKWHATIWORE25 to save 25% off any non-sale purchase at Rockport.com!

WhatIWore: I’m happy to say, spring is really, truly, FINALLY here! We had a gorgeous weekend and spent most of it outdoors. We were all over the place, but I’ll share more on that tomorrow! My new yellow circle skirt, remixed with a light sweater, jean jacket and comfy sandals were perfect for a full twelve hours of activity.
