WhatIWore: Mama always told me if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all. This outfit is alright, but my mood is… moody. I’ll let this one be short and sweet… like my skirt! Hope your week is going a little bit better than mine, as I cohabitate with a leaping toddler.

What I Wore | Woodsy

             

WhatIWore: Here’s something I wore over the weekend with my boys. We didn’t actually go to the woods at all - just an early morning breakfast at the Village Deli! I’ve never had a puffy vest before, but it’s so cozy! I layered it over a flannel plaid shirt, which always makes me think of my husband because he’s such a teenager of the 90s and loves plaid shirts. It’s pretty much the only thing he wears. I say this all of the time, but as much as I love my funky vintage dresses and high heeled boots I also really love casual outfits like this. Luckily, life let’s us do both!

My DIY | Honeycomb Cable Knit Hat

WhatIWore: I’m so excited to debut my first knitting pattern today in my etsy shop, Stars + Field! Recenly I’ve been on a knitting spree making up read-to- shop hats (which will be listed ASAP!) and developing my own patterns. I love the way this cozy winter hat turned out, so I took notes, tested my pattern and now it’s available for purchase ($5!)

This pattern is best for knitters who’ve practiced their cable knitting skills or are ready to experiment with something new. It’s made using one skein of chunky yarn (3.5 oz/136 yrds) and a size 10 16″ circlular needle, a cable needle (optional if you prefer doing cables on your knitting needles) and a tapestry needle. 

If any of you try out this pattern, I’d love to see your finished hat!

What I Wore | Bold Tones

     

WhatIWore: I’m so into these dark wine tones lately! I just want to wear shades of plum and purple and maroon, so today I’m sporting a hat I made for Stars + Field with a pretty neutral outfit. Felix and I go to the library on Wednesdays and it’s always hot in there, so I need an easy to remove sweater and comfy pants for crawling after him at story time (today he danced and clapped in the middle of the circle like the little ham that he is. This kid loves to be the center of attention. Who did he inherit that from?!?) I ditched the hat once inside too. And yes, I’m definitely the craziest dressed mom in the room, but it’s just who I am!
